We supply high quality, flexible temporary buildings to create high quality, “temporary” sport buildings, used for gyms, sports halls and fitness centres. Our buildings are fast to install, custom designed to meet your bespoke needs. They will instantly increase your sport and leisure capacity.
STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING
We have recently completed a 15m x 70m sports facility with a x 3m eave height for a leading university. The building has been specified to a very high, elite athlete standard and is now open throughout the year for staff and students.
We were initially approached by the university to offer advice and options to increase their sporting facilities with the provision of a temporary facility. After undertaking a series of site visits, we identified an underutilised area of sports track that would provide a solid base for the structure. Due to our wide range of bespoke options, we were able to specify a solution comprising glazing and durable steel cladding featuring a robust PVC tensile roof with anti-condensation technology. The structure provides flexible space for gym work, conditioning and performance training.
Our client, a League One football club required a dedicated, temporary gym building used for strength and conditioning to complement their existing training ground infrastructure.
Their vision was to install a large, high-specification, fully insulated gym and conditioning facility at the club’s training centre and academy. They also wanted the building to act as a hub, bringing together players, coaching staff, and academy talent together in a professional environment, large enough to accommodate the full squad.
From the initial approach in late spring, we worked closely with the club to evolve the design through a series of iterations. This included specifying a bespoke RAL colour to bend into the training centre, increasing the initial footprint and incorporating extensive glazing within two elevations to overlook the training pitches. Each stage of design development refined the details, ensuring the building not only met technical requirements but also created the right environment for players and staff
STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING
While they are commonly known as “temporary” our buildings are designed and engineered to last over 20 years. Temporary buildings are completely different to other tent structures as our buildings meet UK building regulations.
They use a robust aluminium frame which means we can install your structure without complex foundations on almost any ground surface. Lastly, your building will be installed by our own in-house team of experts, who have a wealth of experience in building temporary facilities such as these. The installation is fast and will minimise disruption and down time. Your building will be up and running in a matter of weeks.

As temporary building experts, we share some important considerations when exploring temporary structures:
Firstly, you need to consider the application. For example, what sports facilities do you need to accommodate within the structure as this can impact the specification. Especially the flooring you will require.
Secondly, what size and type of structure do you need. For example, does it need to be an insulated building. In terms of the type of buildings available, we can provide anything from a canopy cover for a tennis court to a fully insulated, state-of the art performance centre, complete with a bespoke HVAC from our partners, Flow Power Solutions. Further specification options are available.
If you are unsure on what size you need, we can help you with a site consultation. During this consultation, our knowledgeable team will discuss what space and specification standards you need to meet. We can work with you to design a building that will comply with any sporting body standards such as the LTA Indoor Building Brief.
Finally, for additional flexibility, our sport structures can be hired or purchased outright giving you a number of options to finance the building. So it is good to understand how long you will need the structure for.
Building a permanent sporting facility, sports hall, training centre or gym is an expensive and time consuming endeavour! A temporary building offers a range of advantages. When it comes to designing your new temporary building, we will work with you to design a bespoke solution that is comparable in quality and durability to a traditional building. We can fit-out your sport structure with a range of bespoke options from specialist sports flooring which is custom designed for temporary gym buildings or other sports such as padel.
We can build to any size, with widths of up to 40m. The length of your structure is only limited by the space you have available. In addition, we can also supply heating and cooling systems allowing you to maintain a comfortable temperature in your temporary gym structure. Every detail can be tailored to your requirements, with different bracing options to allow for uninterrupted internal space for racket sports such as badminton or tennis.
Glazing, doors and windows can also enhance the internal environment, providing natural light and ventilation options. Our recent temporary gym building for a leading university demonstrates what is possible to achieve.

Will I need planning permission for my temporary gym or sports facility? This is a question we get asked all the time and there is a lot of inaccurate advice on this matter. So what are the planning regulations?
If a temporary structure is in place for more than 28 days, they generally will need planning permission. However, there are some exemptions to this. We have an exemplary track record in securing planning permission for temporary buildings.
We can help you with the application process and have published an expert guide detailing when planning permission may be required for temporary buildings.
We never compromise on quality and our approach is focused on proving the best quality building from design to delivery. Our bespoke design service includes structural calculations and design drawings ensuring your building meets all UK Building regulations and site specific wind and weather loadings to the BS6399 quality code.
The structure meets a wide range of ISO quality standards, CE standards and fire protection ratings. The building is manufactured off site which means we control quality at every stage of the process. Manufacturing involves state-of-the-art technology, including robotics, CNC laser cutting, and high-frequency PVC welding technology. This means we can adhere and produce to the highest international standards for quality and safety. Ultimately providing you with an exceptional, ready to use building fit for elite, grass roots or recreational sport.
