Project SUMMARY

A leading national vehicle preparation and movement company contacted us to enquire about a solution due to improve operational efficiency.  They needed a structure that could be installed quickly and used, initially as a workshop and a secure, dry vehicle preparation area. Working closely with the client, we helped shape a layout that improved workflow and integrated seamlessly with adjacent site improvements being delivered at the same time.

The Requirement

The client required a building that would streamline their vehicle preparation processes. The structure had to be designed to accommodate all aspects of their operations, including an initial inspection, mechanical and bodywork repairs together with providing overnight secure storage. After completing the preparation work, the vehicles were to be driven through to a wash and final detail. The building needed to maintain a clean, comfortable and dry working environment while integrating seamlessly with the separate wet wash facility that was being installed simultaneously.

The client was keen to avoid committing to a permanent structure. Instead, they were looking for flexibility through a temporary building and low-upfront cost of a rental agreement for the structure.

The Solution

We completed two site visits and worked closely with the client to refine their original 12m x 12m concept into a larger, more flexible 15m x 15m temporary building, providing additional roof clearance by using a 5m leg height. The leg height provided an internal ridge height of 8.03m, making it suitable for larger vehicles in the future. Internally, 225m2 of space has been created.

The flow and efficiency was optimised with the addition of a second secure sliding gate, positioned adjacent to the new wet wash area allowing vehicles a separate entry and onward exit point. During the second site visit, we conducted a pull-test to advise the client on the required surface for the structure. These tests confirmed the existing concrete slab was suitable, saving time and costs.

To ensure weather protection, longevity, and a professional finish, the building was fitted with full guttering and flashing. The installation was completed with minimal disruption over a 5 day period by our in-house installation team.
