We recently installed a 12m x 15m storage warehouse specifically for IKEA Reading. As a major retail client, it was important that the structure was installed as quickly as possible to minimise disruption on their site. In fact, the team were able to work to tight deadlines installing a new building on site within just days, without disruption or downtime.

To begin with, on the first day of installation, the team set to work installing a lightweight frame on-site. This frame was assembled by anchoring the structure into the ground. Generally, a temporary storage warehouse can be installed on most ground surfaces without expensive foundations. Furthermore, bespoke sizes can also be manufactured to maximise the space on your site.
The following day, our team installed robust steel cladding to the outside of the frame. In this case it provided a durable and long-lasting finish for our client. Of course, at Field & Lawn we offer a wide variety of cladding options including fully insulated sandwich panels to help create temperature-controlled environments.
Next, on day thee roofing lining and doors were added to the structure. On this occasion we used an insulated industrial PVC roof and an anti-condensation lining for the structure at IKEA. Overall, this option allowed a good level of natural light into the structure. The bespoke roller shutter door we installed also provides easy access for a forklift. Additionally, we were able to feature two pedestrian access doors to allow staff access in and out of the structure safely.
After that it was time to add the finishing touches! To sum up, the building was completed following just four days of installation. To conclude the project our team finalised the project by adding guttering and flashing. Due to the building being manufactured off-site, there was minimal waste to remove, so it’s a quick tidy up and off to the next project!
