The Requirement

Denholm Industrial, located in Plymouth needed to expand their on-site storage. They required a durable temporary building solution, with a large access door for plant.

The site for the temporary building installation presented various obstacles. Accessibility was challenging, and the new structure would be located in a hard-to-reach area.

Additionally, the ground was contaminated, meaning the team was unable to fix the building directly into the ground.

Consequently, the build required an innovative and adaptable solution to provide the client with convenient industrial storage space exactly where it was needed.

The Solutions

We were able to install a bespoke 12.5m x 25m x 5m temporary warehouse structure that met all our clients requirements, giving them 310sqm of extra space.

As the client required a short-term solution, we provided the structure on a flexible rental agreement, initially for 6 months.

Our team engineered a counterweighted ballast anchoring solution for the structure. Four 2-tonne ballast blocks were placed on each custom-made leg of the building.

Our industrial buildings are a popular solution for increasing storage space and warehouse capacity on-site. They have the ability to be linked directly to existing loading bays and warehouse buildings or can be standalone.

Engineered to any specification, our structures are designed to meet the relevant BS6399 and Eurocodes for wind and snow loading. They offer a quick, cost-effective, and flexible solution to create more efficient use of existing space.

Our in-house installation team worked under robust health and safety processes with full RAMs to ensure a safe and disruption free installation. The structure was installed in 5 days.

Single skin PVC material roof 650g /m2, non-flammable, fully tensioned.

Quality Standards:

Fully compliant to UK Building Regulations and BS6399. Snow loading capacity of 75kg/m2 and wind loading of 28 m/s.

The results

The installation of the temporary building provided the client with much-needed additional storage space, allowing them to optimise their capacity and streamline their operations.
